Shyh-Dar Li

Dr. Li is a Professor in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UBC, Chair of Nanomedicine and Chemical Biology at UBC, and a Theme Lead at the Nanomedicine Innovation Network. The Li lab has developed a proprietary technology to enable needle-free transmucosal and transcutaneous delivery of antibodies. The technology also enables nose-to-brain delivery of antibodies to treat brain infections. Using these methods, Dr. Li will work closely with Dr. Bach to deliver single-chain antibodies at therapeutic doses to address needle-phobia issues in antibody therapy and potentially increase public uptake of such treatments.
